                                       RITUACHARYA AND VEDIC ASTROLOGY

The term Rituacharya refers to an ancient Ayurvedic practice and is made up of the terms "Ritu" (season) and "charya" (regime or discipline). Ritucharya is an Ayurvedic lifestyle and dietary regimen designed to help people deal with the physical and emotional effects of seasonal changes. Ritucharya helps us develop our physical and mental toughness so we can fight off illnesses brought on by seasonal changes. Additionally, it maintains a balance between the three doshas in our bodies and keeps us strong and healthy all year long.Astrology and Ayurveda are closely related to one another.  Astrology is crucial for a healthy existence, just as Ayurveda is for living a healthy one. Astrology is concerned with the planets, stars, and nakshatra, also known as the Graha. Each Graha has unique qualities and a unique cosmic energy that affects the human body in terms of Ritucharya, Ritusandhi, Adanakala, and Visarga Kala, among other things. Each and every Graha has a representation made up of minerals, gems (stones), plants, and many other things that are utilized to guide that specific Graha, planet, and star.  The science of astrology is based on information about the motions of the planets and stars.  Ayurveda and astrology are the branches of the same tree, and working together will produce superior outcomes.

One of the subfields of medical astrology, known as clinical astrology, tries to improve emotional regulation and treat related behavioral issues in people by fostering positive personality development. Astrology fosters a belief in God and the natural world. All illnesses stem from a lack of the aforementioned faith and beliefs. My understanding is that an ayurvedic physician also has to be knowledgeable in astronomy.  Ayurveda and astrology, which provide a dynamic perspective of the cosmos, identify specific harmonic elements that are essential to human existence on all levels. As part of my current research, I am reviewing, analyzing, and comparing the details of many references that are same as I analyze the concepts of diagnosing and treating a variety of disorders using the ancient texts of both fields.

Six Seasons, Per Ayurveda
There are two Kaals (time periods) in a year. A year has a total of 6 seasons because each Kaal has 3 seasons. Each season lasts for two months, and the Indian subcontinent is where these seasons are specifically located.

Northern Solstice, Adaan Kaal, and Uttaryana (14 January to 14 July)
Winter Shishir Ritu January middle to March middle
Spring Vasant Ritu March middle to May middle
This summer, Grishma Ritu May middle to July middle
Southern Solstice, Visarga Kaal, and Dakshinayana (14 July to 14 January)
(Monsoon) Varsha Ritu July middle to September middle
Sharad Ritu (Fall/Autumn) between mid-September and mid-november
(Late Autumn/Pre-Winter) Hemant Ritu between mid-November and mid-January
Northern Solstice, Uttaryana, and Adaan Kaal
The wind and sun are really strong at this time of year. All of the power and energy emanating from individuals as well as the earth's cooling properties are repelled by the sun. Both plants and people exhibit balmy and parched characteristics under the hot heat. lowering individual strength in the process.

Great Yogic Sage Maharshi Parashara is a well-known Vedic Sage who is regarded as the father of Jyotish Shastra or Vedic Astrology. He is accredited as the author of Vishnu Purana, the first of 18 Puranas of Hindu Literature compiled by his son Veda Vyasa. Parashara Rishi was the son of Shakti Muni and Adrishyanti and a disciple of Bashkal and Yajnavalkya.

Birth of Rishi Parashara

Sage Parashara was actually raised by his grandfather, Rishi Vasishtha, one of the Saptarishi which also known as the seven important sages  . It is because his father Shakti Muni had died before his birth and there is an interesting story behind the birth of Sage Parashara involving the death of his father Shakti Muni.

The sage Parashara had acquired knowledge of many disciplines and given them to the world. Parashara has many verses in the Rigveda. The Vishnu Purana, Parashara Samhita, Videharaj Janaka referred to as Gita (Parashara Geeta), BrihatParashara Sanhita, etc. are compositions of Parashara.

Parashara Gita

In the dialogue of Bhishma and Yudhishthira in the Shanti Parva of Mahabharata, Bhishma reveals the conversation between Raja Janak and Parashara to Yudhishthira. This conversation is known as ‘Parashara Gita’. There are talks of knowledge related to religion and action. In fact, in Shanti Parva, a detailed description of the answers to all kinds of philosophy and religion questions is available.

Vedic Astrology is an ancient Indian science that explains planetary motions and positions concerning time and their effect on humans and other entities on earth. Vedic astrology can be traced thousands of years back. Early Vedic astrology was only based on the movement of planets concerning stars, but later on, it started including zodiac signs as well. According to Vedic astrology, there are 27 constellations made up of 12 zodiac signs, 9 planets and 12 houses with each house and planet representing some aspect of human life. Depending on when a person is born, the 12 signs are distributed among the 12 houses and 9 planets are placed in various houses. This visual representation of the snapshot of the signs and planets is called a horoscope chart. Vedic astrology is nothing but interpreting the meaning of these arrangements as it applies to humans and other entities.
